How to deal with your collections of litter from Public Land.
If there are only 1-3 bags, leave them beside any Council litter bin for collection. There’s no need to report them (although please do so if regular collection is likely to be delayed). Alternatively, if there are no bins nearby, please leave the bags in a safe, easily identified and accessible point for collection, avoiding any risk to the Council collection crew. If possible, it’s best to leave by a landmark such as a street name sign.
For a larger number of bags, instead of reporting collections on the Harrow Council website as fly-tips (which is time-consuming and can give a false impression of numbers of fly-tips), simply send an email to environment.operations@harrow.gov.uk. Please give an accurate (and as detailed as possible) location of the bags, and photos with background. Early indications are that this system works well, and results in a swift removal.
Any fly-tips that have to be left in place should be reported via the Harrow Council website.
